CQB Hell Gunk Boss Guide

Gunk is a named boss players search when CQB Hell spike fights feel messy, close, and unforgiving to players who stop moving after the first contact. Use this page with Kevin Boss, Ambush Boss, Sequoia Boss, and the shared prep on Bosses. If you still lose hallway fights, fix fundamentals on Survive CQB before you blame gear.

CQB Hell by Killart Studios released March 14, 2025 on Roblox with online PvE on PC, Xbox, and Mobile. Boss rooms still use sandbox firearms, grenades, and medkits—no invented DPS on this wiki. Musket, D-44 Carbine, G19B, and Contender remain community playstyle examples. Specials in a third slot are permanent when owned; marketplace sales remove them—see Marketplace Specials. Event inventory context lives on Event Weapons and Limited Event Weapons.

Fight identity

Gunk punishes static crosshair worship in tight space. Expect closer effective distances, faster punishment for open reloads, and fewer polite pauses between pressure waves. Handgun tempos and carbine strings can work, but feet must never stop. Musket players need even stricter displace discipline because miss recovery windows shrink.

Before the door: first peek, exit tile, reload mask, grenade plan, heal window.

Preparation

  1. Preserve medkits and grenades through Map Clearing discipline.
  2. Drill close-space movement on the Shooting Range, including PVP.
  3. Pick a gun tempo you can execute while moving—not only while standing.
  4. Read Mobile Tips if touch or controller limits your displace speed.
  5. Musket solos: open Solo Bosses with Musket for spacing contracts.

Opening and mid-fight

Do not donate the center on entry. Slice angles, take short peeks, displace immediately. Grenades deny stacks or buy plant windows—avoid vanity throws that light you up in close quarters.

Loop:

  • Move while shooting when the gun allows
  • Break sight before reload or heal
  • Recheck flanks constantly—Ambush-like deletes still happen
  • Re-enter from a different pixel
  • Treat utilities as fight-long resources

Failure patterns on Gunk

  • Standing still to finish magazines in open ground
  • Reloading in the same corner twice
  • Healing without breaking sight
  • Ignoring secondary AI in tight lanes
  • Chasing low phases into corners with no exit

Team coordination

Stagger peeks so someone always holds threat. Do not stack doorways in close arenas. Call flanks early—Gunk’s chaos plus teammate confusion is a wipe multiplier.

Platform notes

Close arenas amplify platform differences. Mobile players should reduce peek duration and bind heal where the thumb can reach without stopping movement. Xbox players benefit from pre-aiming corners before each displace. PC players still lose if they treat Gunk like a static range drill—feet matter more than DPI.

Utility pairing

Pair Gunk attempts with honest grenade plans from Grenades & Medkits. One well-timed deny often beats two sloppy sprays in tight lanes. If you own a special third slot, stage swaps behind cover—open-field swaps die the same way open reloads do. Shopping context remains on Marketplace Specials.

Practice ladder

  1. Warm up movement drills on the Shooting Range.
  2. Clear a map without emptying utilities on trash rooms.
  3. Attempt Ambush Boss if flank deletes dominate your notes.
  4. Return to Gunk with a lane plan and intact medkit budget.

Cross-read siblings

Flank deletes → Ambush Boss. Fast snap pressure → Kevin Boss and Viper Boss. Multi-phase arenas → Sequoia Boss. Long attrition → Ascalon Boss. Fundamentals gap → Guides Hub.

Gunk becomes fair when you keep moving, mask vulnerable seconds, and refuse to treat close space like a static range drill.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common CQB Hell questions.

Is Gunk a close-range boss?

Yes. Expect tighter effective distances and higher punishment for static reloads and open heals.

Is G19B-style play viable?

Handgun tempos can work if your feet never stop and you break sight before reloads.

Do grenades matter more on Gunk?

They help deny stacks in tight space, but vanity nades that reveal you are especially costly.

Is Gunk soloable?

Yes with strict movement and masked reloads. Musket solos need extra spacing discipline.

How does Gunk compare to Ambush?

Both punish flanks and burnt angles. Read Ambush if flank deletes dominate your wipe notes.
