CQB Hell Map Clearing Guide
Room-order methods for randomized PvE layouts in CQB Hell.
Random maps are the heart of CQB Hell. You cannot memorize one perfect route forever, but you can clear with a repeatable method that leaves you alive, stocked, and ready for bosses. This map clearing guide builds on Survive CQB and How to Play. Use it before specializing into Bosses.
Clearing philosophy
Speed without information is just a stylish wipe. Clear to gather control of space, not to race a ghost timer. Aggressive AI punishes players who leave uncleared depth behind them and players who sprint past audio cues. Your standard is: every room you claim should stay claimed while you move to the next problem.
A practical room-order method
- Stop at the threshold and listen.
- Slice the visible corners before committing your body.
- Take the first fight from a reversible angle.
- Check depth and secondary doors before looting or relaxing.
- Reload and heal only in owned space.
- Mark a retreat path mentally before opening the next funnel.
When a room has two exits, prefer the exit that keeps your cleared space at your back. When a room is a dead end, clear it fully so it cannot spawn a surprise behind you later—random layouts still create these pockets.
Weapon tempo while clearing
Match gun to geometry. Long fatal hallways may favor deliberate Musket picks or controlled D-44 Carbine strings. Collapsed bathrooms and storage closets may favor G19B style closeness. Switch with intent between wings if the map shape changes. Fake damage charts will not tell you which doorway is safe; your last three peeks will.
Grenade economy on a clear
Assign grenades a job before you throw:
- Soft a stacked audio room
- Cover a cross into a bad funnel
- Create a plant for a precision follow-up
If you nade every uncertain corner, you will arrive at Allik Boss or other bosses broke. Scarcity is part of the clear grade.
Medkit reserves
Grade your clear by leftover heals, not only by time. A “fast” clear that spends every medkit on vanity peeks fails the real exam when the boss door opens. Heal after breaks in contact. If you are constantly scratched, your peek length is wrong—fix with Survive CQB rather than healing the symptom forever.
Flank and back-clear habits
Aggressive AI loves the space you ignored. Periodically shoulder-check the path behind you, especially after loud fights that could have drawn rotations. In online sessions, teammates can cover, but solo players must schedule micro back-checks. Musket players should never begin a long reload without knowing the rear is quiet—see Solo Bosses with Musket.
Platform clearing notes
PC: use micro-jiggles for info without donating your whole model. Xbox: make sure grenade and heal binds are reachable mid-strafe. Mobile: shorten swings and rely on Mobile Tips so touch aiming does not force huge exposures.
Drills that improve clearing
- Clear one map with a rule: no reload on any doorway.
- Clear one map grading yourself on medkits remaining.
- Spend time on the Shooting Range practicing exit-to-cover after each mag.
- Review the Guides Hub and pick the sibling page that matches your most common wipe cause.
- Only then chain a clear into a boss attempt.
What success looks like
A good clear feels quiet at the end: you own the wing, your magazine is topped in safety, utilities remain, and you can choose to push a boss on purpose. A bad clear feels loud and lucky. CQB Hell by Killart Studios rewards the first pattern—random maps included.
Return to Getting Started if you need the onboarding frame again, or jump to boss pages when your clears consistently end with resources in pocket.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common CQB Hell questions.
How do I clear if every map is random?
Use a repeatable threshold method: listen, slice corners, take reversible peeks, then secure depth before moving on.
Should I clear every side room?
Clear spaces that can threaten your back. Dead ends left live often become wipe stories.
How many grenades should I save for bosses?
Enough for real windows. If you are throwing on every uncertainty, tighten discipline.
What is a good clear grade besides speed?
Medkits remaining, calm reloads in owned space, and no mystery uncleared depth behind you.
Which guide helps if I die while clearing?
Survive CQB for peek habits, Shooting Range for aim, and Bosses only after clears stabilize.
